San Diego’s Top Things to Do August 2-14

Visit San Diego in the next two weeks and experience these top things to do, including art and culture festivals, sporting events, the largest Tiki event in the world and so much more.  

When: August 3 – 7, 2022 
Tiki Oasis is the original and largest Tiki event in the world. Enjoy five nights and four days of live music, pool lounging, fashion shows, swanky suites, sunset dinners, disc jockeys, art exhibits, educational seminars, busting Tiki Marketplace, and tropical cocktails curated by top mixologists and so much more! 

When: August 5 – 6, 2022 
JFG’s annual Toro Nagashi Festival is back! This traditional festival celebrates the circle of life together, as done each summer in Japan for generations. JFG welcomes everyone to join the celebration! Enjoy tasty food, performances, vendors and toro nagashi, all in one beautiful location. 

When: August 6 – 7, 2022 

Attendees can peruse through the garden browsing artwork from more than 150 artists and enjoying food, wine and beer, and live entertainment at this two-day, free event in San Diego’s largest Arts & Cultural District. Locals and visitors will have the opportunity to purchase artwork from local, national, and international artists in a variety of mediums including painting, sculpture, glasswork, fine jewelry, photography, and more.  

When: August 6 – 14, 2022 
Over 400 of the top junior tennis players in the country, aged 16 and 18 and under, will compete for the title of National Champion. The USTA Billie Jean King Girls’ 16s & 18s National Championships are the premiere hard court tennis tournaments for amateur and professional American girls aged 16 and 18 and under in the United States.  

When: August 7, 2022 
The Wave FC brings the highest level of world-class, professional soccer to San Diego. USWNT standouts Alex Morgan and Abby Dahlkemper were two of the first players signed to the club that consists of athletes representing six international soccer federations, including US, Mexico, Canada, Sweden, England and Australia. 

When: August 7, 2022 
San Diego’s ultimate summer art and music festival takes over 5th Avenue. Unlike in previous years where crafters and artists are all stacked together, artists and performers, vendors, and attractions will be dispersed throughout the event all mixed together. Explore neighborhood businesses along side exciting artists, creative food vendors, and unique crafter! 

When: August 13, 2022 
Uncorked is coming back to the track for the 3rd annual Del Mar Summer Wine Festival. Enjoy over 100 wines and champagnes from around the globe, sample from top local food trucks and enjoy music all while trackside watching the races from the Stretch Run. This event benefits Urban Surf 4 Kids, a local nonprofit organization that helps at risk and foster children through water and surf therapy. 

When: August 13, 2022 
Downtown Chula Vista’s Third Avenue will transform into a lemon-filled oasis. From lemon pie eating competitions to games, lemonade and cute pups in lemon outfits, this is a free celebration you don’t want to miss!
