See who walked away with an additional $50,000 in their purse following their performances at UFC 274
Getting the win at a UFC event is sweet. Getting some bonus cash on top of your victory is even sweeter.
UFC 274 saw 17,232 people fill the Footprint Center in Phoenix, AZ, to capacity, bringing in a gate of just over $6 million, a record for the arena.
As announced by UFC President Dana White at the UFC 274 post-fight press conference, Michael Chandler and Andre Fialho scored the performance bonuses of the evening, while the flyweight bout between Brandon Royval and Matt Schnell earned Fight of the Night honors.
All four fighters walked away with an extra $50,000 in their pockets.
Michael Chandler and Andre Fialho earn UFC 274 performance bonuses; Brandon Royval vs. Matt Schnell named Fight of the Night
Chandler got his bonus from scoring a Knockout of the Year contender in his win over Tony Ferguson. After Ferguson gave Chandler some trouble in the opening round, Chandler dropped him out cold with a front kick to the face.
After Cameron VanCamp rocked Fialho in their early prelim bout, Fialho took advantage of an aggressive VanCamp by rocking him with one hook before answering a VanCamp uppercut attempt with another hook that brought the bout to a close via KO.
Schnell dropped Royval with a right hand a minute into the fight. Royval tried to grab a leg lock, but Schnell started to throw some ground-and-pound and look for a finish. After attempting a guillotine, however, Schnell got caught in Royval’s own guillotine choke, which scored a submission.
