UFC Vegas 22: Max Griffin flattens Kenan Song for first-round knockout (Video)

UFC Vegas 22: Max Griffin knocked out Kenan Song in the first round.

Max Griffin defeated Kenan Song via knockout, Round 1 – 2:20 at UFC Vegas 22 on Saturday, March 20, 2021, live from the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, NV.

“He got shot back, launchpad bro… They’re going to Houston, he’s my boy but Geoff Neal is from Texas. I want to fight Geoff Neal,” said Griffin after the fight.

The fight between Griffin and Song did not last long but it was action-packed. The two fighters traded combinations and kicks, leading up to the knockout. Griffin caught Song coming in with a right hand. The punch stopped Song from coming forward and sent him moving back up against the fence. Griffin followed it up with a straight left hand and then a massive right hook on the jaw that dropped Song face-first onto the canvas.

Song and Griffin were promoted to the co-main event slot after the original co-main event fight between Gregor Gillespie and Brad Riddell was canceled mere hours before the start of the event. Both fighters entered UFC Vegas 22 on a winning streak. Song had won two straight and four of his first five fights in the UFC. While Griffin knocked out Ramiz Brahimaj in his previous fight.
