Justin Gaethje brutally shades Charles Oliviera after weight miss.
On Friday morning, UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliviera stepped on the scales a half-pound over the 155-pound limit. He was given an additional hour to cut weight but while that was happening, his opponent Justin Gaethje was busy putting the weight back on.
According to Gaethje, he was already 10 pounds heavier than when he weighed in (second to the scales).
“poor bastard still cutting,” Gaethje wrote. “I’m back to 65 while he’s dying. He better make it. He has five minutes.”
He also commented on his weight gain on Twitter writing, “I posted my weight 3 hours after I stepped on the scale. Average weight gained back by athletes in the UFC is 10% of body weight. You guys might not like it but it is the law of the land. #fyi”
Due to the weight miss, Oliviera is no longer eligible for the title.
