Herschel Walker is a blithering, incoherent mess on gun control and every other issue

“You know, Cain killed Abel, and that’s a problem that we have. And I said, what we need to do is look into how we can stop those things,” Walker began.

“You talk about doing a disinformation,” Walker continued. “What about getting a department that can look at young men that’s looking at women, that’s looking at their social media? What about doing that, looking into things like that, and we can stop that that way,” Walker said.

Whatever the fuck all of that means.

Walker then talked about allocating money for mental health rather than “taking away your Constitutional rights,” but offered no solutions or programs.

Just after winning his spot on the primary ticket Tuesday, Walker was confronted by CNN’s Manu Raju, who asked him for his thoughts on gun reform. It was just a few hours earlier in the day that news broke about the mass shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, that left 19 children and two adults dead.

“Are you supporting any new gun laws in the wake of this Texas shooting?” Raju asked.

Walker offered Raju another nearly incomprehensible answer:

“What I like to do is see it and everything and stuff,” Walker said, and then walked away. Illuminating!

Walker’s team has been trying to cover his ass since his campaign began. Just recently, his spokesperson Mallory Blount emailed a statement to The Washington Post attempting to defend him as the face of a for-profit organization that duped veterans. “So let me get this straight—you are demonizing Herschel for being the face of an organization for 14 years that has helped tens of thousands of soldiers suffering from mental illness,” Blount wrote. That organization “is alleged to have preyed upon veterans and service members while defrauding the government,” the Post reports.

Blount also dismissed a report that Walker physically abused his wife and that in 2005 she filed for a protection order after numerous threats.

The GOP is very invested in Walker’s win in Georgia. In fact, it’s being called the most hotly contested race in the midterms. So in response, the big guns have been called in to coach Walker. He can’t avoid debates and stick to talking exclusively to Fox News forever. I mean, he’s gonna have to start defending all those murky-ass financial records, his body spray that promises to “kill the COVID,” the fact that he lied about graduating from college, and his doubts about evolution if he wants to beat incumbent Warnock.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (AJC) reports that Walker’s camp has set up “policy time” to meet with a few Republicans who can school him on what he needs to know—or whatever he’s never learned.

So far, Walker has met with Sen. Lindsey Graham, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, and Sen. Ted Cruz. According to a source affiliated with Walker, “Of course, he speaks regularly with the former president,” according to the AJC.
