Yaya Mayweather and NBA Youngboy have a tumultuous history that resulted in the stabbing of the mother of one of his kids, Lapattra Lashai Jacobs, in April 2020. Jacobs was at NBA Youngboy’s home and Yaya appeared. The two women began to exchange words when Yaya grabbed two knives and stabbed Jacobs. On Wednesday, Yaya pleaded guilty to the crime.
According to documents exclusively obtained by The Shade Room, Yaya Mayweather appeared in a Houston court with her lawyers and pleaded guilty to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for stabbing Jacobs.
While the official details of her sentencing have yet to be determined, prosecutors are suggesting six years of probation.
According to a source with direct knowledge of the situation, the 21-year-old is due back in court June 16th for her sentencing. At that time, she will be assessed and the nature of her probation will be determined. We’re told it could range from community service, restitution, and etc.
Since the incident, Yaya hasn’t stopped championing for NBA YoungBoy. She has been seen in clubs rapping endlessly to his songs, posting cryptic messages on Instagram, all while he is in a relationship with Jazlyn Mychelle.
As for NBA YoungBoy, he mentioned that Yaya wouldn’t let him see their son. According to the track reportedly titled, “Carry On,” YB says, “She don’t want KJ to come, but then, she tries to FaceTime him with me but I don’t wanna talk at all.” The lyrics continue to say, “I don’t give a f**k. B***h, go tell the critics.”
While COVID prolonged the case, Jacobs spoke about her relationship with NBA YoungBoy back in 2020.
During an IG live, she insinuated that NBA YoungBoy doesn’t take his relationships too seriously because of his younger age.
“He’s still young so, he ain’t ready to settle down,” Lapattra said. “In my mind, and I know ‘cause I’m older than him, so I know a young person not ready to settle down. Really not ready to settle down like actually settle down.”
She also went on to discuss their relationship, which she admitted was tested and ultimately ended due to her alleged fight with Yaya Mayweather.
“Like, we still would have been low-key if this s**t wouldn’t have happened to me,” Jacobs also added.
